The aim of this one-day course is to give delegates practical knowledge of the fundamentals of good practice and safe food handling.
Who should attend?
The course is recommended for anyone who is working in the catering and hospitality industries, food retail or manufacturing.
Course content
The course is informal and will cover topics including: Simple bacteriology Food poisoning & its prevention Prevention of food contamination Personal hygiene Design of premises & equipment Cleaning & disinfection Pest control Legal requirements under current legislation. Course book and a comprehensive delegate pack will be provided.
Duration
The course is of 6 hours duration and conducted during one day. It is followed by a short multiple choice test.
Qualification
All successful candidates will receive the nationally recognised level 2 Award in food Safety in Catering,retail or manufacturing.
Progression
Level 3 Award in Food Safety. We also offer accredited courses for those food handlers working in the food manufacturing and food retailing environments.
